The Book-art project.

The book art project draws inspiration from the traditions of artists like Tom Phillips, Joseph Cornell and Robert Rauschenberg. These are reworked pre-published books, repurposed into a parallel relationship with the viewer through the act of manipulation, adornment and vandalisation; with mixed media and collage.
The deliberate focus on the concept, shape and format of a book demands the audience engage, if they are to interact with the work, in an intimate manner that stands separate from the performance of viewing pieces of work in full view of others in the gallery / exhibition space.
